ICE was founded in 1818 by a small group of idealistic young men. ICE was established in a London coffee house. Today, ICE has over 80,000 members across the world. But, despite the tremendous advances in technology and the growth of the engineering profession, ICE has the same purpose as it did when it was founded nearly two centuries ago. ICE is also called ICE Tecnhical Meeting. ICE Technical Meeting aims to meet with civil engineer experts and also discussed about the civil engineering projects.

To start off the new semester this year, the Department of English conducted an English writing workshop for lecturers in UKRIDA. This workshop was held for 4 days during 19-23 January 2015, and was attended by a number of lecturers from the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science.
